Depto. Sonsonate. Close to the main road west from San Salvador towards Sonsonate about 5 km east-nort-east of the town of Izalco. Alt. 510 m

Habitat

Infrequent shade tree over coffee with Gliricidia sepium, Lonchocarpus rugosus, L. salvadorensis and Cordia alliodora.

Habitus

Small tree to 8 m ht.; dbh 25 cm. Bark smoth light grey, inner bark greenish with a strong smell oi garden peas when cut. Leaves discolourous, glossy mid green above, paler below, shedding. Abundant crop of ripe pods in dense cluster, orange-bronw.
