Annotations
P. Mráz (PRC) 2021-01: ? Original material of Polypodium attenuatum. Note: according to www.tropicos.org, Polypodium attenuatum Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd., Sp. Pl Ed. 4 5(1): 191. 1810 (June), is an illegitimate name (later homonym of P. attenuatum R. Br., Prodr. Fl. Nov. Hol. 146. 1910 [correctly 1810!] (April). Because C. Presl stated on the label that this specimen comes from Humboldt and was collected in America, it could potentially represent a fragment of the original material of this illegitimate name. P. Mráz: based on a new information gathered from www.tropicos.org, accessed on March 18, 2025 "Willdenow’s Species Plantarum 5(1) was published 25-27 January 1810. There is a typographical error in TL-2 (7: 303, entry 17.658) indicating that it was published 25-27 June 1810, which is incorrect. This has led to confusion over priority between this work and Robert Brown's Prodr., published 1-7 April 1810.". In such a case, Willdenow's is legitimate.
