T. Herzog: "Schon Loitlesberger hat auf die Ähnlichkeit mit P. gymnocalycina aufmerksam gemacht. Diese selbst aber ist identisch mit P. rutilans. Es scheint sich um diese Art ein grosser Formenkreis zu scharen, wo Artgrenzen nur mit Vorsicht anwendbar sind."
